'Apoklon' course final exam held at LSTB

Imphal, January 17 2026: The Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board's Khenchanglon Loishang, conducted the final examination for its six-month course on writing and reading Apoklon (Kuthi/astrological birth charts) today.

Altogether, 87 students (out of 107 enrolled students) participated in the final examination held at LSTB Complex in Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham, Imphal.

The examination was invigilated by experts, including LSTB vice president Vidyapati Senjam, member secretary Maisnam Shivadutta Luwang, board member K Ibomcha Mangang, board member Namaoijam Tomba.

Shree Shree Govindaji Temple Board's Panji Shnaglakpa Wangkheimayum Homendro, Kangleipak Calendar Board's president Ahambijit Sairom, Panji Akoijam Haridas, Mikup Pungjalon Khutpai's editor Soubam Buddha and Asem Opendro, Assistant Professor, Astrology Department, Radha Madhava Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya.

Speaking to the media, Vidyapati Senjam said that the LSTB's Khenchanglon Loishang has been preserving the traditional practice of reading and writing Apoklon, making it accessible at a low cost to the people.

"Globally, the method of reading Apoklon is evolving with the help of science.

In this region too, late elders and wise people have been practicing the work of reading and writing Apoklon according to the system of days, months, and stars", he added.

He asserted that this same system is being continued by the LSTB's Khenchaanglon Loishang, to teach the skill of writing and reading Apoklon in a better way.

Highlighting that learning to write and read Apoklon is very expensive, Vidyapati Senjan said, "However, for those devoted to Lainingthou Sanamahi, the LSTB is teaching Apoklon writing and reading at a low cost" .

Thongbam Premjit Meetei, Khenchanglon Shanglakpa of LSTB, announced that the exam results will be declared soon, and students will be awarded prizes and certificates.

Additionally, a 1-year advanced course in Khenchanglon (Panji/ astrology) will commence on January 30, and interested students can enroll by submitting their forms before January 30 .
