Mental Health Awareness Programme held

As part of its commitment to the well-being of its personnel, 86 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, Lamphelpat, organised a two-day mental health awarenessprogramme from July 14to 15, 2026 at its headquarters in Imphal West District.
The programme was held under the aegis of the Inspector General, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, CRPF, for personnel and officers of 86 Bn and 169 Bn CRPF .
Clinical psychologists from Chetna Foundation conducted the sessions.
Chetna Foundation works exclusively for the welfare of CRPF personnel through Project Chetna, which runs Mental Health Counselling Cells and Psychometric Assessments.
The programme included awareness sessions and stress management techniques tailored for security personnel operating in challenging environments.
Participants took part enthusiastically and appreciated the sessions for their positive impact on mental clarity, emotional wellbeing, stress management and overall resilience.
The sessions also provided valuable insights on maintaining a healthy worklife balance and enhancing psychological preparedness to cope with occupational stress.
The programme concluded with individual psychological screening for personnel.
Officials said the initiative reflects CRPF's steadfast commitment to the holistic welfare of its personnel and its efforts to enhance their physical, mental and emotional health to enable them to perform duties with greater confidence and effectiveness.
Saurabh Kumar Choudhary, Commandant, 86 Bn CRPF, Dr Florence Dangmei, CMO (SG), and other officers attended the programme.
