CDI Imphal observes Domestic Workers' Day

Imphal, June 16 2026: The Centre for Development Initiatives (CDI), Imphal, in collaboration with domestic workers, celebrated International Domestic Workers' Day today under the theme "Recognizing Domestic Workers: Rights, Dignity and Decent Work for All".

Held to raise awareness on the rights and welfare of domestic workers.

the programme brought together domestic workers and government representatives.

The event began with an opening session followed by a welcome address highlighting the day's significance.

Representatives from the Labour Department and District Legal Services Authority, Imphal East, spoke on labour rights, legal protection, and available support services.

Domestic workers were encouraged to organise, advocate for their rights, and continue contributing to community development.

The celebration reinforced the commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, and welfare of domestic workers.

It concluded with a vote of thanks to all stakeholders for their efforts.
