Noney, December 15 2025:
In a commendable display of commitment and timely action, the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), in collaboration with Ganapati Company Pvt Ltd, has undertaken specialquality maintenance of the vital road stretch from Longmai Bazar Traffic Point to Longmai Common Ground under Noney District Headquarters as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The inter-district road, which passes through all major localities of Longmai Village, serves as the primary access route for several villages under Noney district.
It is also a crucial link connecting important institutions and government establishments, including schools and colleges, the newly constructed Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, Divisional Forest Office, Soil Conservation Office, Makaam Hospital, NHIDCL PMU-Noney Office, District Multi-Purpose Hall, churches and other key infrastructures.
The road maintenance fulfils an assurance given by local MLA Dinganglung Gangmei, IAS (Retd.), Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC), during the inaugural function of the Makaam Hospital & Research Institute at Longmai Bazar last year, where he attended as the chief guest.
On that occasion, the MLA had assured the public that efforts would be made to carry out maintenance of the road during the dry winter season.
Following up on his commitment, the MLA approached the General Manager of NHIDCL and officials of Ganapati Company Pvt Ltd, who assured that the maintenance work would be taken up before Christmas.
Keeping their word, the company commenced and completed the work in time, presenting it as a Christmas gift to the people of the area.
Community-based organisations and village leaders have expressed their appreciation to the MLA, NHIDCL and Ganapati Company Pvt Ltd for executing the road maintenance ahead of the festive season.
They said the improved road condition will greatly ease travel, enhance connectivity and benefit the general public across the district.
