Memorandum submitted to CS, Governor

Family members of Late Loukrakpam Debala (33) accompanied by member of local clubs and Meira Paibis on Saturday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary and Governor urging them to produce the fact-finding report on the tragic deaths of Loukrakpam Debala and her unborn child within 48 hours.
Notably, Loukrakpam ningol Debala (33), w/o Ngangbam Bharat of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai near Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba died during a childbirth at Hillside Charitable Hospital and Research Centre along with the unborn child at around 10.30 am on February 10, 2025 .
Briefing mediapersons at Manipur Press Club, Loukrakpam Geeta, younger sister of Late Loukrakpam Debala, said that her sister had been receiving prenatal care and going for regular check ups at Hillside Charitable Hospital and Research Centre since the early stages of her pregnancy.
She said, "On February 9, Debala visited the hospital for a check-up due to discomfort in her back.
She was examined by a doctor, who prescribed some medicines and then sent her back home" .
She asserted that Debala was rushed to the hospital again on the same day as she complained of breathing difficulties.
Claiming that Debala and her unborn child died due to the negligence of the hospital staff and lack of proper emergency medical equipment at the hospital, she urged the relevant authorities to cancel the license of the Hillside Charitable Hospital and Research Centre.
She also urged the Chief Secretary and Governor to hand over the case to the CBI and deliver justice to the deceased mother and her unborn child.
Furthermore, Geeta informed that complaint letters have also been sent to the Director of Directorate of Health Services, Manipur and Manipur State Commission for Women.
