Manipuri dance, painting competitions held

Imphal, September 14 2025: The 50th Rotary On-the-spot Painting Competition2025 was held today at Rotary Bhavan.

The competition was conducted as part of vocational service of Rotary Club of Imphal, in two groups namely.

Group A (Class III-VI) on the theme, "A Clean Environment" and Group B (Class VII to X) on the theme, "'Peace & Integrity among us" .

As per a release issued by Rotary Club of Imphal, a total of 122 students from different schools participated in the annual painting competitions.

In Group A, Laishram Henthoibi Chanu of Heritage Convent, Purel Mangang of St George High School and O Bhumika of Pitambara English School secured first, second and third positions respectively.

Kh Joy Meitei of Wangkhei High School, Takhellambam Damini of Arena of Learning and Th.Roshita Devi of Nirmalabas School won consolation prizes.

In Group B, Seram Joiraj Meitei of Nongpok Maheikol, Angela Heikrujam of Kendriya Vidyalaya Lamphelpat and Nongmaithem Korounganba of Heritage Convent secured first, second and third positions respectively.

Leepun Ningthemcha of Maria Montessori School, Lenison Rajkumar of The Ushus School and Brikrama Lourembam of The Comprehensive School Oinam won consolation prizes.

Notably, Rotary Club of Imphal organises painting competitions every year to motivate young students and help them in developing their creative talents.

Meanwhile, the solo audition round of the 2nd KIMACS State Level Inter School Manipuri Dance Competition 2025 was held today at SSBD Music College and Government Dance College, Konung Mamang.

The competition was conducted on the theme, "Eshana Eshabu Khanglasi Tunggi Meerol Geedamak" .

As per a release issued by Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts & Cultural Society (KIMACS), the dance competition was organised with the aim to promote 'Manipuri Jagoi Subject' and instil a sense of patriotism among the students.

Altogether, 36 students are participating in the competition.
