120 children benefit from Nanhi Muskaan health camp in Kakching

Kakching, July 14 2026:
Around 120 children from six Child Care Institutions (CCIs) in Kakching district received free health screening and medicines during the Nanhi Muskaan (Little Smile) 2026 Mega Health Camp held at HFAO Thambal Children Home for Girls, Arong Nongmaikhong, on Tuesday.
The camp was jointly organised by the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal; the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kakching, under the Social Welfare Department; and Health for All Organisation (HFAO), in collaboration with the District Administration, Kakching.
District Child Protection Officer, Kakching, Gajoo Rajkumari, said the initiative aimed to promote the health and overall well-being of children living in Child Care Institutions by ensuring access to comprehensive health checkups.
Specialists from the ENT, Dermatology, Paediatrics, Dentistry and Psychiatry departments of RIMS conducted medical examinations and consultations during the camp.
Nanhi Muskaan, meaning "Little Smile", is an outreach initiative of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD) dedicated to improving healthcare access for underprivileged children.
