KMA, Columbiaa Hospital hold free health camp for Manipuris in Bengaluru

The Karnataka Meitei Association (KMA) has partnered with Columbiaa Hospital, Bengaluru, to launch a healthcare initiative for Manipuris residing in the city.
As part of the initiative, KMA and Columbiaa Hospital successfully conducted the Phase-I Free Mega Wellness Camp on June 13, at Columbiaa Hospital, Kasturi Nagar.
Over 30 Manipuri men and women availed free services including BP and BMI checks, GRBS, ECG, 2D Echo, ABI test, BMD test, dental and eye examinations, and consultations with specialists in orthopaedics, cardiology, general medicine, diabetology, & ophthalmology.
Through the partnership, Manipuri community members can avail 30% concession on medicines and diagnostic investigations, along with discounts on consultations and treatments using a valid KMA Health Card or authorisation letter.
KMA vice president James Haoraobam said free health camps will now be held every second Saturday, urging students, families, and professionals to participate.
President Subhas Takhellambam called the initiative "God's blessing" and stressed that KMA, a nonprofit, gains no financial benefit, with welfare of the diaspora being its main goal.
KMA thanked Dr HV Satish Babu, Medical Director, and Managing Director Pavan Kumar of Columbiaa Hospital for their support in making the first phase a success.
