Major Soiba awarded Sena Medal for bravery

Major Soiba Maningba Rangnamei, a native of Katomei Village in Senapati district, has been awarded the prestigious Sena Medal for his remarkable bravery.
This recognition comes after he led his men in the 16 Bihar Regiment during the confrontation against the Chinese PLA in Galwan.
Major Rangnamei's exceptional leadership and courage has earned him accolades, including a felicitation by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
The Chief Minister had tweeted about the honour of meeting Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei, praising his bravery during the Galwan confrontation.
The Sena Medal is a testament to Major Rangnamei's selfless service and dedication to the nation.

Eastern Command held the Investiture Ceremony, 2025 at Ranchi, Jharkhand on February 12, 2025 .
During the event, Lieut Col Raman Tyagi of HQ 26 Sector Assam Rifles, Lieut Col Sakil Ahmad of 36 Assam Rifles, Maj Manohar Singh of 13 Assam Rifles and Maj Soiba Maningba Rangnamei of 22 Assam Rifles were awarded Sena Medal (Gallantry) and Maj Gen Manish Kumar, SM, IG AR (North) were awarded Sena Medal (Distinguished).
The prestigious awards were presented by Lieut Gen Ram Chander Tiwari, UYSM, AVSM, SM, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command.
Lieutenant Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, DG of the Assam Rifles congratulated the awardees on their remarkable achievements and dedication to service.
