Jiribam, September 12 2025: A combined team of Jiribam security forces seized a large cache of arms and ammunition from Sonapur and Jairolpokpi village during a search operation conducted from 7.30 am to 10 am today.

The seized items include one modified SBBL gun, three country made muzzle loading SBBL gun, one .22 pistol (made in India), one country made .22 DBBL shotgun derringer, eight 12 bore cartridge, 56 vials containing gun powder, three small sized bottles containing gun powder, 240 pieces of lead with some fragments and one gun powder filling iron rod.

The items were apprehended by a combined team of Jiribam District Police, Jiribam PS, CDO Unit, Jiribam, Special Mobile Patrol Unit, Jiribam, 7th IRB, QAT-C/48 Bn CRPF, QAT-87 Bn CRPF, QAT-20 Bn CRPF, QAT-156 Bn CRPF and 38 Assam Rifles.

They carried out the search operation after receiving reliable information about the presence of anti-social elements in the foothills of Jiribam around 6 am .
