2nd round of National Deworming Day launched

Thoubal, October 10 2026: The second round of National Deworming Day 2026 for Thoubal district was launched at Lalita Madhop Higher Secondary School, Khongjom on October 9 by the Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Yumnam Robita.

The National Deworming Day is being held under the theme, "Worm Free india-Under the Krimi Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" as a part of the national campaign to protect children and adolescents aged 1 to 19 from parasitic intestinal worms and promote their well-being.

District Mission Director and Chief Medical Officer CMO Thoubal Dr Krishnachandra Luwang; ZEO Zone-Ill Thoubal, Yengkhom Achouba Singh and Lalita Madhop Higher Secondary School Principal, Sanasam Sana Devi also attended as the presidium members of the launching programme organised by the District Health Society, Thoubal.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, DC Thoubal underscored the importance of maintaining hygiene so as to keep oneself healthy and urged the residents of Thoubal district to make collective efforts for the success of the deworming campaign.

Deworming tablets were distributed to the health centres during the programme attended by staff of the Medical Department, ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
