Displaced victims decry lack of adequate facilities

Jiribam, June 10 2024:
Aggrieved over the lack of proper facilities, the displaced victims of the recent Jiri violence taking refuge at various relief camps in Jiribam have demanded for adequate security so that they can return to their native lands instead of staying in relief camps.
Notably, around 666 displaced victims are currently taking refuge at relief camps of Multi Super Complex (Indoor Hall) Bidyanagar; Chingdong Leikai Upper Primary School; Sorok Atingbi High School and Children Home Harinagar.
H Gourbadhon, a displaced victim taking shelter at Chingdong Leikai Upper Primary School has sought the attention of the authorities concerned to provide essential items to meet the requirements of all the inmates.
Meanwhile, Moirangthem Rashe who is currently taking shelter at Multi Super Complex (Indoor Hall) Bidyanagar has demanded for adequate security and construction of new houses so that they can return to their native places at the earliest.
It is worth noting that the eruption of recent violence in Jiribam district has rendered many homeless compelling them to take shelter in relief camps opened at different places.
