71st Wildlife Week: Jiribam Forest Division participates in grand finale

The Jiribam Forest Division joined the grand finale of the 71st Wildlife WeekCelebration 2025 via video conference from the Conference Hall of the Divisional Forest Officer, Uchathol, Jiribam today.
The grand finale was held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal, and was graced by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla as the chief guest and Chief Secretary Dr Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, as the guest of honour.
Elangbam Nirmala Chanu, Divisional Forest Officer, Jiribam, along with Nameirakpam Bidyananda Singh, District Information Officer, Jiribam; Huirem Rajen Kumar Singh, honorary Wildlife Warden.
Jiribam; Nongthombam Biraj and Numeetkappa Ningthemcha, Range Forest Officer and staff of Jiribam Forest Division, students, and teachers from various schools, witnessed the event.
These students and teachers had actively participated in the successful celebration of the 71st Wildlife Week 2025 in Jiribam.
They also got an opportunity to witness a short video on Pangolin Conservation Project in Manipur which will help them in inculcating the importance of protection of wild animals.
The 71st Wildlife Week Celebration, 2025, with the theme "Human-Wildlife Coexistence" was celebrated in Jiribam from October 2 to 8, in line with the Forest Department.
The Jiribam Forest Division, under the initiative of the Divisional Forest Officer, Elangbam Nirmala Chanu, organized various activities and programs to promote environmental awareness and conservation in the region.
The activities and programs conducted during the celebration included awareness programme to inculcate a sense of responsibility for wildlife conservation among the general public, youth, and school students, plantation drive, wildlife painting and essay competition, district level quiz competition, loudspeaker campaign and nature trail walk for school students at Ningsingkhul Biodiversity Park, Jiribam.
The objective of the celebration was to promote awareness and conservation of wildlife and its habitat in the region.
