Shajibu Textile Expo kicks off

Imphal, April 09 2025: The two-day Shajibu Textile Expo began today at Sagolband Meino Leirak Arambam Lampak Community Hall.

Sponsored by the Directorate of Handloom and Textiles Manipur, the expo has been organised by M/S Surja Deva Handloom & Handicraft Cooperative Society and Panthoibi Weaving Collection.

Kicking off the Shajibu Textile Expo, Thokchom Basanta Singh.

Deputy Director, Directorate of Handloom and Textiles urged weavers to get weavers' identity card which will make them eligible for many welfare and insurance schemes launched by the Government.

Lairenjam Ongbi Anita, Proprietor, M/S Surja Deva Handloom & Handicraft Cooperative Society and Panthoibi Weaving Collection said that the two-day expo was organised to give a platform to people engaged in the field of handloom and textiles a chance to display and sell their wares in view of the upcoming Cheiraoba festival.

Weavers' Service Centre, Deputy Director Priyadarshi Daripa; Aheibam Loken, General Manager, District Industries Centre; L Dasumati, Project Manager (Handloom), District of Handloom Textiles, IW; Th Rabi Singh, Manager, Manipur Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation and Salam Bharat Bhusan, president, YPU Club graced the event.
