CCpur, October 08 2026:
Acting on public complaints, former MLA of 60-Singngat AC, GS Haupu, today inspected the 47-km long Churachandpur to Khuangkhai road.
The former MLA expressed deep concern over the poor condition of the road due to lack of maintenance.
The condition of the said stretch of road remains deplorable and is deteriorating with each passing day.
Talking to the media at a stretch where vehicles often get stuck, he said it is his endeavour to repair the road and for the purpose he has written a letter to the Chief Minister informing him of the plight of the people in the area.
He said the road was made pucca in 2019-20 as part of the first phase under a scheme granted for the purpose.
The road is an important link to Myanmar up to the last Indian village of old Khaukual, and people living along the stretch, particularly those settled in the border areas, have been suffering greatly.
He further informed that pothole repair work will start from Monday by engaging three local contractors.
