DC Senapati distributes seeds and farm inputs to boost agricultural productivity

Senapati, June 08 2026:
In a significant initiative aimed at improving farmers' livelihoods and enhancing agricultural productivity, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Dharun Kumar S, distributed essential agricultural seeds and farm inputs to farmers of the district at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, Senapati, on Monday.
The programme was organised by the District Agricultural Officer, Senapati for the crop year 2026-27 .
Fanners received a range of agricultural inputs, including The distribution of Agriculture seeds and inputs includes maize, pea and paddy seeds, knapsack sprayers, and locally produced vermicompost.

Speaking at the distribution programme, DC Dharun Kumar underscored the importance of ensuring that all eligible farmers receive the benefits of various government welfare schemes without difficulty.
He stated that appropriate interventions, modem agricultural practices, and institutional support can transform farming into a highly productive and profitable enterprise.
Expressing optimism about the future of the sector, he said that sustained support and collective efforts would help agriculture in Senapati continue to grow, benefiting farmers and contributing to the district's overall economic development.
District Agriculture Officer Lavei James informed that the distribution of agricultural seeds and inputs, including locally produced vermicompost, forms part of the department's efforts to strengthen agricultural development and improve farm productivity across the district.
Addressing the gathering, he acknowledged that the programme had been delayed due to unforeseen logistical and transportation challenges.
However, he assured farmers that the department remains committed to ensuring that all intended beneficiaries receive support in a timely manner through various developmental initiatives and agricultural assistance programmes.
