Agricultural infrastructure units inaugurated

Thoubal, October 07 2026: MLA of Heirok AC and spokesperson of BJP, Dr Th Radheshyam assured to designate the MLA local area development fund from next term for the welfare of farmers, women and youths.

The MLA was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a Food Processing Unit, a Solar Dryer Unit, Custom Hiring Centre, three vermicompost units and two collection and aggregation units of Nongpok Organic Sintha Lup Producer Company Ltd, Thoubal and Kakching districts at Heirok Part II Chingdongpok.

Commissioner of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Govt of Manipur Thaithuilung Pamei; Deputy Commissioner Thoubal Yumna Robita and Director of Horticulture and Soil Conservation K Debadutta Sharma also attended as the presidium members of the inaugural programme.

The units which were inaugurated today were constructed under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER).

Addressing the gathering, Dr Th Radheshyam stressed on the need of eating organic and non-processed foods to lead a healthy life.

He stated that the recently opened units will help in providing organic foods to the people.

The MLA also extended gratitude to the Agriculture and Horticulture departments for providing agricultural inputs to the farmers and educating them through various training and skill development programmes.

Emphasizing on the need to develop an organic farming society in Manipur, the MLA urged the farmers to focus on organic farming methods.

As a part of the programme, farming inputs were also distributed to the farmers.
