Sainik School Imphal celebrates 54th Raising Day with grandeur

Imphal, October 07 2025: Sainik School Imphal celebrated its 54th Raising Day on Tuesday with great pomp and grandeur.

A significant number of alumni, ex-staff, parents and esteemed dignitaries attended the same with Prof N Lokendro Singh, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

As per a release issued by Sainik School Imphal, the celebration gained momentum with the conduct of the Inter School English Debate Competition 2025 wherein participants from various schools competed neck to neck.

The competition was powered by the Old Boys' Association of the school (SSIAA) .

The event was judged by a panel of luminaries including Pooja Elangbam, Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur; Prof Rajmuhon Nongmaithem, Vice Chancellor, DM University; and Pradip Phanjoubam, editor, Imphal Review of Arts & Politics.

In the competition, Cadet Naorem Anthony and Cadet RB Sholeavei, both from Sainik School Imphal secured the 1st & 2nd positions respectively.

The 3rd position was secured by Khanjrakpam Panthoisana and RK Ilusia Devi, both from TG Higher Secondary School.

Sainik School Imphal bagged the overall trophy, TG Higher Secondary School came overall second followed by RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Imphal.

The cadets of Sainik School Imphal also showcased an enthralling variety entertainment programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Pooja Elangbam lauded the school for putting up a stellar performance and encouraged them to take each step as a step closer to success in life.

Prof N Lokendra released a Commemorative Stamp on the occasion of the 54th Raising Day of Sainik School Imphal.

He appreciated all the stakeholders of the school for their dedicated and concerted efforts in bringing the school up to its present standards and making it a pride of the region.

Col A Rajiv, Principal of Sainik School Imphal, expressed his gratitude to the SSIAA for their unwavering assistance & cooperation, and to all the guests, participants, invitees and parents for making the celebration a grand success.
