170 held in ILP drive

Manipur police said that 170 non locals were found staying without ILP passes while 134 others were found carrying expired ILP documents during a drive carried out since last week.
A bulletin issued by the Police Control Room (PCR) last night said 2412 individuals were verified in market areas along National Highway 2, Maram-Peren road, Tadubi Tolloi road, and inter-village roads by the Senapati District Police Task Force during the operation.
Saying that the defaulters were immediately taken to the ILP counter at Mao Gate, where they were made to obtain valid passes, the PCR added the drive will continue.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered one Ghatak rifle with an empty magazine, two improvised mortars (pompi), four improvised rockets bombs and 19 improvised mortar rounds from Gothol village in Churachandpur.
The police issued 68 challans to motor vehicle offenders amounting a total of Rs 1,16,500 yesterday.
Two cadres of a banned outfit were also arrested yesterday, according to police.
