Meritorious students felicitated at Bishnupur, Thanga and Lilong

Bpr/Tbl, Jun 7: Meritorious students from various parts of Manipur were felicitated in separate programmes held at Bishnupur, Thanga and Lilong in recognition of their outstanding performances in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE, as well as other academic achievements.
A felicitation ceremony for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) students was held at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Bishnupur.
The programme was jointly organised by the Meitei Youth Organisation (MYO), Churachandpur Meitei Ethnic Clash Victims Committee, Nupi Samaj, Ima Leiren Apunba Lup Churachandpur and the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee (CMUC) .
Altogether 135 meritorious students from Churachandpur, currently taking shelter in various relief camps across the valley districts, were honoured by presenting Lengyan and mementoes for their outstanding performance in the Class X and XII examinations.
Sobhachandra Mairembam, who successfully completed Master's degrees in both Sociology and Statistics, was also felicitated.
The function was attended by MYO president Hemam Jogendro, Churachandpur Meitei Ethnic Clash Victims Committee president Ningthoujam Abung, CMUC president Naba Ningthoujam, Nupi Samaj president Gurumayum Landhoni and Ima Leiren Apunba Lup president Angom Nayani as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Naba Ningthoujam encouraged the students to remain determined despite the challenges faced as displaced persons and urged them to strive for excellence in order to bring honour to Manipur and the nation while contributing towards safeguarding the motherland.
In another programme, a career counselling-cum-felicitation function for successful students of Thanga Assembly Constituency was held at Keirenphabi Community Hall.
The event was jointly organised by the Office of the MLA, Thanga Assembly Constituency, and SANTI Club.
MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh attended the programme as chief guest, while SANTI Club president Laishram Kalababu Singh presided over the function.
Retired District Agriculture Officer Laishram Rameshwor Singh, Bishnupur Higher Secondary School lecturer Heisnam Nilakanta Singh and All Manipur Private School Welfare Association president and Loyalam Public School founder Laishram Joy Khuman attended as guests of honour.
Career counsellor and psychologist Silomi Sanjembam, Managing Director of SS Career Solution, delivered an informative session on career selection, while social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram motivated the students through an inspiring address.
A total of 548 students who successfully passed the Class X and XII examinations were felicitated with certificates, cash awards and diaries in recognition of their achievements.
Meanwhile, the Lilong United Youth Association (LUYA) organised its first Meritorious Award Distribution Ceremony at Bright Brain Institute, Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi.
The programme honoured students who secured outstanding marks in the Class X and XII examinations and OBC (MP) candidates who successfully cleared the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination (MCSCCE), 2022, conducted by the Manipur Public Service Commission.
The function was attended by attended by Principal of Lilong Haoreibi College, Md A Sattar Shah; Longmai SDO/ BDO Md Ziaur Rahman; Tengnoupal and Machi SDO/BDO Md Nazmul Khan; Moreh SDC Md Sukur Ali; MSPDCL Lilong Sub-division Manager Farooque Khan; Waqf Board Manipur CEO in-charge Md Sabir Ahmed; Lilong PS OC Inspector N Subash Singh; Fishery Dept Inspector Tahir Ali Bogimayum; Hafiz Learners' Academy founder and proprietor of Al-Hayat Md Ayub Khan; PSO president Farid Bogimayum; Bright Brain Institute founder Md Habib Sultan; and Meipak Ningthou convenor and president of LUYA Arshad Baseimayum as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, LUYA president Arshad Baseimayum said the programme was organised to encourage young students to pursue excellence and become responsible citizens.
He added that the successfill MCSCCE candidates were also honoured in recognition of their hard work and with the hope that they would serve the State with dedication and integrity.
