Imphal, May 07 2025: The District Health Society, Imphal East organised an "Award Distribution Ceremony of NQAS and KAYAKALP" at Panchayat Bhawan, Porompat today.

The ceremony was graced by Khumanthem Diana Devi, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East; Dr L Indira Devi, CMO/DMD, DHS, Imphal East; Dr L Vikram, DNO, Quality Assurance, DHS, Imphal East and Dr N Johnson Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East as presidium members.

Notably, Kayakalp Award Scheme and the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) are distinct programmes, but both aim to improve the quality of public health facilities in the country.

Kayakalp focuses on hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control while NQAS sets standards for various aspects of healthcare quality in secondary facilities.

Awards are distributed based on performance against specific criteria within each program.

Altogether, 27 health-care facilities in Imphal East district have been recognized under the Kayakalp and NQAS .
