NMSYO Sports Meet concludes with a call for unity and progress

The 37th Northern Maram Students and Youths Organisation (NMSYO) Sports Meet concluded on Sunday at Lymsyipou (Lairouching) local ground with a vibrant valedictory function graced by Dr Immanuel K Muivah, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, Manipur, as the chief guest.
In his address, Dr Muivah highlighted the significance of such events in bringing people together and fostering a spirit of unity and development.
Reflecting on his connection with Somdal and the Maram community, he emphasized that education remains the foundation of human development.
Praising the contribution of Don Bosco College (Autonomous) and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, he lauded the institutions for uplifting the area and shaping young minds, with over 3,000 students currently enrolled.
He also urged the gathering to cultivate the habit of reading and studying in libraries and study halls, stating that "learning from books and study spaces is far more beneficial than relying solely on social media." Encouraging students to avoid shortcuts in life, he reiterated that discipline and perseverance are essential to success.
Reminding the audience of the richness of Naga culture and Christian values, he noted that the community's strength lies in its hospitality, philanthropy, sincerity, and hard work - traits that must continue to guide the younger generation in all spheres of life.
Guest of honour, H Kuba Peter, president of the Naga People's Organisation (NPO), also delivered a solidarity message during the ceremony.
The valedictory function featured an invocation, welcome note, presentation hour, enchanting song, fusion dance, and concluded with a vote of thanks.
In the sporting events, Maram Bazar emerged champions in Men's Football, Lymsiyipou (Lairouching) clinched the title in Men's Volleyball, while Sagongbam won the Women's Volleyball event.
