MP Bimol Akoijam chairs DISHA meeting in Bishnupur

Member of Parliament for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, on Monday chaired the first meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Bishnupur.
Organised by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), the meeting reviewed the implementation and progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and developmental programmes in the district.
It was attended by district-level officers from departments including Health, Education, Rural Development, MGNREGS, PMAY-G, DAY-NRLM, DDU-GKY, RSETI, PMGSY, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Housing and Urban Affairs, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Water Resources, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, MSPDCL and Youth Affairs and Sports, among others.
Welcoming the Chairperson, DC Bishnupur Pooja Elangbam, expressed her gratitude to Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam for his continued guidance, support and leadership in ensuring the effective implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and public welfare programmes in the district.
District Level Officers (DLOs) also made PowerPoint presentations highlighting the progress of various schemes and the action taken on decisions made during the previous DISHA meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam urged all officials to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and sincerity, emphasizing that every small developmental effort contributes significantly to the overall progress of society.
He also reiterated the importance of strengthening the health and education sectors, describing them as the foundation of a progressive society.
He observed that shortcomings in these critical sectors have far-reaching consequences on overall development and urged all District Level Officers to make the best use of their positions by working with commitment towards the welfare and advancement of the people.
The meeting was attended by nominees of the DISHA Committee, Additional Deputy Commissioner Toijam Opendro, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), District Level Officers and other concerned officials.
