Imphal, February 06 2025: The All Manipur Lifters & Movers Welfare Association (AMLMWA) has appealed to the transporters operating in Imphal Bazar area to act in line with the resolution taken by the executive members of the Bazar Board in February 9, 2023, for the welfare of the labourers.

"It is very unfortunate to learn that the 20 percent increment of wages has not been regulated till date even though the resolution taken by executive members of the Bazar Board was supposed to come into effect from March 10, 2023", said AMLMWA in a release.

The association also claimed that there have been lots of complaints from labourers regarding the unfair attitude of the transporters.

"It is also important to accept the truth that Manipur being in crisis with frequent bandhs, agitation and unpredictable curfews due to the ongoing conflict, the labourers are the most affected and insecure group financially & mentally", it added.

Furthermore, the AMLMWA appealed to the transporters to take necessary actions to address the grievances of the labourers at the earliest.
