Residents of Kakching Uyok Chingya and Phunal Sambum have taken up the task of repairing the deteriorated inter-village road stretch connecting the two localities, after years of official neglect.
The repair initiative was jointly carried out by Kakching Turel Wangma Uyok Ching Club (UCC), Kakching Thonglan Leikai locals, Phunal Sambum villagers, along with support from the Kakching JCB & Tata Tipper Owners Association.
The work began yesterday on the 3 km long route connecting two villages.

He expressed concern that the road had remained neglected by authorities, resulting in prolonged hardship for residents.
Stating that the people could no longer wait for official action, he informed that villagers pooled resources and manpower to initiate the repair.
He appealed to the authorities to expedite necessary measures for permanent improvement of the road in view of the continued plight of the publice.
