Farmers' training programme organized

Kakching, September 05 2026:
A farmer training cum machinery and seed distribution programme was held today at Pallel village in Kakching district today.
The programme was jointly organized by the Department of Agriculture, Kakching district and Khana Chaoba Farmers Producer Company Ltd Kakching district.
Today's programme was graced by Joychandra Konthoujam, chairman of Justice Committee on Anglo Manipur War 1891, Martyrs of Freedom Fighters of Kangleipak; RK Umakanta Singh, District Agriculture Officer, Thoubal and Kakching and W Subash Singh, Agriculture Officer as the presidium members among others.
Many farmers of Pallel area also took part in today's programme.
Speaking as the chief guest, Joychandra Konthoujam highlighted that self-sufficient production of food is the key to a self-reliant economy.
Stressing that the Agriculture Department should ensure that the various farmers's schemes reach the rightful beneficiaries timely, he maintained that by doing so, the farmers would be able to focus on large scale food production.
He also thanked the Agriculture Department for providing free grains, pulses and spray pumps to the farmers.
Expressing concerns on the various issues plaguing the State hindering food production, he maintained that the State will prosper only when there is sufficient food production.
