District Election Officers notify on updation of electoral rolls

Jiribam/Tengnoupal/Thoubal, October 01 2026: All eligible citizens of Jiribam, Tengnoupal and Thoubal districts have been informed that the process of continuous updation of electoral rolls with the qualifying date of October 1, 2026 is under way.

In this regard, press notes have been issued by the District Election Officer (DEO)/Deputy Comm issioners (DCs) of Jiribam, Tengnoupal and Thoubal districts.

It informed that applications for enrolment of electors, deletion of names, correction of entries and shifting of residence, as applicable, shall be submitted in the prescribed Form 6, Form 7 and Form 8 under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.No declaration form attached with Form 6 or Form 8 is required to be submitted.

A special drive for enrolment of all eligible electors and first-time electors will be organised under the process of continuous updation of electoral rolls.

The concerned Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers have been directed to extend all necessary assistance to eligible applicants for their enrolment.

All eligible citizens, particularly those who have attained or will attain the prescribed age of eligibility as on October 1, 2026 have been urged to submit their applications without delay.

The DEOs appealed to all stakeholders, including educational institutions, local bodies, political parties, civil-society organisations and the media, to extend full cooperation in ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included.
