Awareness programme on 'Stalking' held at Japhou

Chandel, August 01 2026: A one-day awareness programme on "Stalking" was organised at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School, Japhou, Chandel district on Friday by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) .

The programme was attended by MSCW chairperson Th Tiningpham Monsang, MSCW member SK Sophia Monsang, DIPR Additional Director and MSCW, Member Secretary W Phajatombi Devi, SDC Chandel Headquarters Promilata Monsang and the school's Principal-in-charge KL Warson Anal as presidium members.

During the technical session, Child Welfare Committee, Tengnoupal, Member Secretary Damgam Khaling spoke on "Stalking Warning Signs, Safety Measures, and Support" .

Advocate Thiyam Rajkishore spoke on "Stalking and Women's Safety: Law, Rights and Prevention", while Tengnoupal Police Station 2nd OC Khulak Tothang Dangsawa spoke on "Reporting and Complaint Mechanisms" .

Students and teachers of Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School and Model Residential School, Mantri Pantha, also attended the awareness programme.
