Shija Hospitals win AHPI Healthcare Excellence Award 2025

Imphal, February 01 2025: Shija Hospitals & Research Institute PvtLtd(SHRI) has been conferred the prestigious AHPI Healthcare Excellence Award 2025 for "Excellence in Quality (Beyond Accreditation)".

According to a release issued by SHRI, the award was presented at the AHPI Global Conclave on February 1, 2025, at Hotel Le Meridien, Kochi, Kerala, and received by Dr Palin Khundongbam, Chairman & Managing Director; and Dr Chetan Khundongbam, Joint Managing Director, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Langol.

The award was presented by Justice Devan Ramachandran, High Court of Kerala; Dr Giridhar Gyani, Director General AHPI; Dr M I Sahadulla, President AHPI, Chairman & Managing Director, KIMS Healthcare Management Ltd; and Prof George Chandy Matteethra, Director & CEO, Believers Church Medical Cok lege Hospital; Fr Johnson Vazhappilly, Executive Director, Rajagiri Hospital, Kochi.

Shija Hospitals received this recognition after a rigorous evaluation of its quality .management, leadership, governance, and patient safety initiatives.

The hospital demonstrated excellence in clinical outcomes, structured staffing, risk management, training programs, and digital transformation, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and telemedicine.

It also highlighted advancements in innovation, environmental sustainability, resource management, and ethical operations.

Dr Palin stated that the award reaffirmed Shija Hospitals' commitment to quality healthcare and its dedication to setting high benchmarks while continuously enhancing patient care.

"The award is dedicated to all the caregivers of the Shija Hospitals and the people in the region who supported us.

Shija remains dedicated to continuous improvement and affordable excellence in healthcare.

Quality is not an act, it's a culture", added Dr Palin.

Notably, Shija is the first medical college hospital to be NABH accredited in NE India and second in eastern India for patient safety.

Shija Laboratory is also NABL accredited.
