Chandel, November 30 2025:
The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA)has strongly denounced the recent press statement issued by the Chandel Naga People's Organization (CNPO), which accused Dharmendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Chandel, of involvement in corruption.
In its clarification, ANTA stated that it has neither knowledge nor supports the allegations made by CNPO, adding that no substantial proof has been provided to justify the charges.
The organisation asserted that under SP Kumar's supervision, significant achievements have been made in law enforcement, including the destruction of poppy plantations, containment of drug smuggling, and noticeable reduction of illegal activities in the district.
ANTA emphasised that instead of levelling unverified accusations, officials such as SP Kumar, who it said has been effectively discharging duties within the framework of the law - should be encouraged and supported to continue contributing to the district's progress.
The organisation further highlighted that SP Chandel has maintained a positive rapport with the public, urging authorities to allow him to continue serving in the district.
It appealed for his tenure to be extended so he can continue his work "with more zeal and renewed spirit" .
