3-day intensive Pulse Polio immunization campaign concludes in Kamjong

Kamjong, June 30 2026:
The three-day Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) campaign conducted across Kamjong district from June 2 8 to 30, 2026, concluded today with a total of 1,562 children below five years of age being administered polio vaccines.
The campaign was organised to protect children against poliomyelitis, with health teams covering 139 villages across the district.
On the first day of the campaign, 1,336 children were administered two drops of polio vaccine at the polio booths being set up across the district.
Besides the booth vaccinations, 33 children were also vaccinated at transit points and bazaar areas.
To ensure that no children were left out, health workers, including ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers, conducted house-to-house visits on June 29 and 30.During the visits, 226 children who had missed the first day's vaccination were administered the polio drops.
Block wise, 446 children were vaccinated in Kamjong and Sahamphung blocks, while 678 received the vaccine in Phungyar Block and 438 in Kasom Block.
The immunization campaign was formally launched on June 28 at Lairam Khullen village under Kasom Block.
