RIMS organises dental camp

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal organised a dental camp at the relief camp opened in Sagoltongba Recent Higher Secondary School on Sunday.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with Zonal Education Office, Zone-I, Education Department; Heritage Foundation of Mankind Sangaiprou; and Eta: Northeast Women's Network Group.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the programme mainly focused on uplifting the underprivileged children by various outreach activities aimed at improving health care and other well-being.
During the camp, drawing and colouring classes, art & craft demonstrations were conducted for children.
They were also made aware about oral hygiene and its importance.
Proper brushing techniques were also demonstrated.
Tooth brushes, tooth pastes, stationary items (books, pencils pens, notebooks, story books, etc) were also distributed to the children staying in the relief camp.
The participants also took a pledge to take care of oral health and adopt a healthy diet.
Altogether, 234 children and adults were examined for various health care concerns by specialist doctors from the Departments of Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmologist, Refractionists and Paediatrician Various treatments such as extractions, restorations and oral prophylaxis were provided during the camp.
Dr K Sobita Devi, retired Director, Department of Arts & Culture; Labee Thoidingjam, Primary Teacher, Thamchet High School; Dijendra Laishram, Chingkhiulan Riamei, Imo Nameirakpam, painter (visual artist) Manipur State Museum, doctors and staff of RIMS, Imphal also took part in the camp.
