Contributions of revolutionary leader recalled during memorial ceremony

Irabot Celebration Committee, Kumbi Local Council organised the 128th Jananeta Irabot Memorial Ceremony at Ibudhou Khongbu Manga Haraothel in Kumbi AC today.
The ceremony was held as part of Irabot Celebration Committee, Manipur State Council's month-long memorial celebration in honour of Lamyanba Irabot.
The program was kicked off with the offering of floral tribute on the life-size photo of the revolutionary leader.
Notable dignitaries include L Thoiren, State Secretary, CPI Manipur State Council; MSC/CPI leader L Sotinkumar; members of CPI Bishnupur District Council, veteran comrades of CPI Kumbi Local Council, members of CPI Kumbi Local Council, M Meghachandra, programme Co-ordinator; W Priyoranjan, chairperson, Kumbi Municipal Council; N Ibohal Meetei, advisor, KBCC and other notable leaders.
Speakers at the event recalled the contributions of the social activist and how he opposed mistreatment of the downtrodden sections of society.
According to the speakers, the current scenario prevailing across the State is an antithesis to the type of society Lamyanba Irabot worked hard to build.
Advocating against a political administration that only seeks to protect their "chair", the speakers maintained that it is time for the Government to act with courage and bring peace back to the State.
They also advocated people to follow in the steps of Lamyanba Irabot and for secularism to prevail in Manipur.
