Student body to launch agitation

Alleging negligence on the part of the State Government to improve the infrastructure of the college, Thoubal College students' Union has today resolved to launch various form of agitation starting June 10, reports our correspondent.
Speaking to media persons today, secretary general of the student body O Aijun said students had earlier locked the administrative block, other departments and even submitted memoranduns to the Chief Minister and education Minister.
Subsequently a meeting was held with the student body, college Principal, Additional Director of Higher education Dr RK Yaiskul and OSD L Iboyaima on March 9 .
Representatives of the college authority agreed to take up necesary initiatives such as constructions of college main gate, separate restrooms for girls and boys, putting up of fences around the college campus and retention of college teachers.
However, no positive steps have been undertaken till now.
Therefore, the student body will intensify the stir by launching various forms of agitation in case the mentioned points are not put to work within June 10, O Aijun said.
