Awareness programme on DAJGUA held at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, November 26 2024:
The District administration in collaboration with ICDS, Social Welfare Department, DCPU, OSC and MSRLM, DMM-Ukhrul organised a One Day Legal Awareness programme Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA)/Empowering Women through Programme and Policies at DRDA Conference Hall, Hamleikhong Ukhrul.
The CDPO Ukhrul, K Surjalata Shimray in her welcome address, stated that the ambitious national programme DAJGUA was launched by PM Narendra Modi in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, honouring the fearless tribal leader and freedom fighter of the country.
She further stated that the main objective of the awareness programme is to educate the women on various beneficiaries schemes of the government.
Meanwhile, resource person Horeisung Khamrang DMM-Ukhrul, MSRLM Department of RD & PR, highlighted how the national government conceived the idea to empower women in bringing sustainable economy and abolished poverty in the country.
Later at the event, application forms for Chief Ministergi Shotharbasingi Tengbang (Care keeper allowance) and Pension scheme for persons with disabilities under CMST were also distributed by the Social Welfare Department, Ukhul.
Over 100 women from different villages of Ukhrul district participated in the awareness programme.
