Imphal, August 26 2026: Two books were released in separate functions in Imphal today.

Dr Thounaojam Lalitkanta Singh authored book "Tonganba Sangskritigi Shaklon (Part-1)" was released at Manipur Dramatic Union (MDU) hall, Yaiskul Police Lane.

The function was organised by Thounaojam Publication.

Former Guru of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Kshetrimayum Kriti, prominent writer Mutua Bahadur and Joint Director, Art & Culture, Manipur Gurumayum Dharmadas Sharma attended as presidium members.

Dr Thingom Tilakchand Singh, Guest Faculty, Department of Music, Manipur University of Culture reviewed the book.

Dr Lalitkanta said though he is an artist, he had long wished to publish a book.

The book was delayed for three years due to financial constraints but was made possible under the CMAT book publication scheme, he added.

Meanwhile, a book "Ithak Machashing-gi Ipok" authored by Nirmala Rajkumari and published by Iramdam Meeyamgi Apunba Khorjei Lup (IMAKHOL), Awang Potsangbam Khunou, was released at Manipur Press Club following traditional rituals.

Former Convener, Manipuri Language Advisory Board Nongmaithem Kirankumar, IMAKHOL president Shagolshem Bilasini and Devdas Mairenbam attended as presidium members.
