Mass 'shram daan', cleanliness drives mark SHS campaign

Imphal, September 25 2025:
As part of the nationwide Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, the 86 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in collaboration with the Water Resources Department, Government of Manipur, organised a 'Mass Shram Daan' for cleaning and desilting of drains at Lamphelpat.
The initiative was inaugurated by Nandini Devi, Second-in-Command, 86 Battalion CRPF, an eminent sports personality and now a senior officer of the force.
During the programme, CRPF personnel, officials of Ihe Water Resources Department, and local residents jointly undertook the cleaning of clogged drains and drainage channels in and around the perimeters of the 86 Bn CRPF camp and the PWD quarters, Lamphelpat Speaking at the event, Saurabh Kumar Chaudhary, Commandant, 86 Battalion CRPF commended the spirit of participation and highlighted that Swachhta is a continuous mission rather than a one-day activity.
He also emphasized that cleanliness directly contributes to public health and community welfare.
Nandini Devi underlined the importance of collective responsibility and discipline in keeping surroundings clean and healthy.
The Mass Shram Daan reflected the true spirit of Swachhta Hi Seva, with participants pledging to carry forward the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility.
RIMS
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised a Voluntary Swachhata Service (Shram Daan) today at the Mini Football Ground and Gents Hostel number 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the institute, under the banner, "Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath".
The programme was attended by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; and Prof Y Govindaraj Singh, Nodal Officer, SAP 2024-25/Kaya Kalp, RIMS, Imphal.
Notably, the initiative forms an important part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025, being observed from September 17 to October 2, 2025 across the institute, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
The event saw active participation from faculty, staff, students, CRED & MSS of RIMS, Imphal, members of Eco Network Manipur & Freefly Northeast who carried out waste clearance, cleaning of common areas, and awareness on waste segregation.
BRTF
As part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign, HQ 25 BRTF organised a massive cleanliness drive under the theme, "Ek Ghanta, Ek Din, Ek Saath" today.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Officers, Supervisors/JCOs, other ranks, and families.
For one hour, participants cleaned the Sanakeithel roadsides and drains.
Waste was disposed of properly in coordination with local authority namely Municipal Corporations, Imphal.
Similarly, 82 Road Construction Coy (GREF) organised a cleanliness drive at Chamol village while 84 Road Construction Coy (GREF) conducted another drive at New Lane, Churachandpur.
