PLMPAM observes foundation day

Imphal, August 01 2026: The Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) observed its 41st foundation day at Khuyathong , today.

The programme was attended by PLMPAM president Soraisam Memcha, general secretary Th Apabi Leimai, MEPWAK president R Rengsongak Koireng and AMAWAOVA advisor Ch Usharani among others.

Speaking at the function, Apabi highlighted alleged excesses committed by security forces under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) .

She said Late Ima Kombi who had fought against the imposition of AFSPA played a central role in the formation of PLMPAM .

She appealed to the people to carry forward the legacy of Ima Kombi.

She also accused the Government of India (GoI) of a proxy war in Manipur by supporting Kuki narco-terrorists.

Claiming that the GoI has been scheming to disintegrate Manipur, she appealed to people to remain vigilant.

She also called for unity among 36 different communities of Manipur to safeguard the State.
