Senapati, April 25 2026:
The Naga Women's Union (NWU) has expressed its gratitude to all the constituent unit members and presidents for rendering then-dedicated services during the three day total shutdown from the midnight of April 21 to 23 .
The shutdown was called by the United Naga Council (UNC) as "Mourning Days" for the two travellers killed by Kuki militants at TM Kasom on April 18 .
In a release thanking the womenfolk, NWU said then-active participation during the total shutdown played an important role in ensuring the future of the Nagas.
"Your engagement shows your commitment to build a stronger Nation.
We look forward to collaborating with you in future community endeavours," the release mentioned.
"You have once again proven that when women lead, the movement moves," NWU declared.
The Union has called on each and everyone to continue giving their best efforts.
Further, the NWU has urged all to remain alert and ready to intervene swiftly and decisively whenever the situation demands, adding that their prompt response and leadership in critical moments can make the difference.
