The eighth day of the ongoing Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA) was observed today with a series of impactful health initiatives aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and holistic wellbeing.
Today, NSS Unit, NIELIT Imphal, in collaboration with Live Savers Manipur & 1979 DMCSC Stalwart, State Blood Transfusion Council Manipur and Department of Transfusion Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at the seminar hall of NIELIT in Akampat.
The camp was attended by Dr Gaiduanreiliy, Medical Officer, Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS; Dr N Shivarjit Singh, Medical Officer, Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS; K Padma Kumar Sharma, Managing Director, LISAM; and Gaillu, NSS Programme Officer, NIELIT Imphal among others.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response with a total of 60 donors voluntarily donating blood, showcasing the community's commitment to saving lives and supporting healthcare needs.
As part of the SNSPA, several health and wellness initiatives were also conducted today at RIMS, Imphal, including a digital ABHA drive, yoga session, and NCD screening for early detection of hypertension, diabetes, and cancer.
Additionally, Psycho-social and Mental Health Support sessions for women were organised, emphasizing the importance of holistic wellbeing.
Moreover, a Free Health Camp was also conducted today at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Khurkhul as part of the SNSPA.
Around 50 individuals were examined for various health care concerns during the camp by the doctors and staff of PHC Khurkhul.
Individuals received free screenings for eye health, blood sugar, blood pressure and NCDs.
Those in need were also provided with free medications, ensuring access to essential treatments.
Sekmai AC MLA Heikham Dingo and PHC Khurkhul's CMO In-charge Dr Yengkhom Oken were also present at the event.
