SHS 2024 activities continue in Kakching, Jiribam

Kakching/Jiribam, September 23 2024:
Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign (SHS) 2024, a nationwide initiative aimed at reinforcing the commitment to cleanliness and hygiene in everyday life is being celebrated across the Kakching district under the initiative of the Kakching Municipal Council (KMC) .
As part of the series of activities taken up under the SHS 2024, a cleanliness drive cum awareness program was conducted by the KMC officials at the Kakching Ward No 1, Ward No 2, Ward No 3 and Ward No 4 .
As part of the program, a plantation drive was also conducted by the officials.
Additionally, an awareness program was held where KMC officials spread awareness regarding the correct way of disposal of garbage and how improper disposal of garbage pose health hazards and the environment pollution threat to humans.
It may be mentioned that KMC officials will continue with their series of activities under SHS 2024 till October 2, 2024 in the district.
Meanwhile, as a part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Campaign, Jiribam Municipal Council organised a painting competition at RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam.
The contest was divided into three categories and 278 students from different schools of the district took part in the competition.
Later, a Swachhata Pledge was administered.
According to M Surjit Singh, Executive Officer, JMC, the winners of the painting competition will be announced and honoured on the National Cleanliness Day.
