BRIC-IBSD holds 'Science for Viksit Bharat' programme

The BRIC-Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Imphal in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati organised a programme on "Science for Viksit Bharat" today, highlighting the role of science, technology and innovation in realising the national vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The event held at BRIC-IBSD, Imphal brought together scientists, researchers, students and academicians.
The programme was attended by Kshetriya Sangathan Mantri, Vijnana Bharati, Sreeprasad MK as chief guest.
Other dignitaries present included State Coordinator (North East), Vibhavani India, Abhijit Goswami; Zonal Coordinator, VVM, Rajeeb Chandra Sharma; and Director (Additional Charge), BRIC-IBSD, Imphal, Dr H Nanaocha Sharma.
The occasion also featured felicitation of the National Camp 2025-26 WM awardee and release of the WM 2026-27 brochure.
Delivering the welcome address, Scientist-E, BRIC-IBSD, Imphal and State President, Vibhavani India, Dr Ch Brajakishor Singh called for cultivating scientific temper among youth and encouraging research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Speakers highlighted the rich biodiversity and traditional knowledge systems of the North Eastern Region as valuable resources for bioresource-based innovation, and called for greater collaboration among scientific institutions, academia and society to advance the goal of a developed, self-reliant India by 2047 .
