Police Commemoration Day held in Kakching, Thoubal

Acknowledging the bravery and dedication demonstrated by the police, the annual Police Commemoration Day was observed to honour police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty at Thoubal Police Head Quarter and SP Kakching Office Complex today.
Thoubal District Police organised the observance ceremony with Thoubal SP, Rakesh Balwal, IPS leading the gathering in paying rich floral tributes to 24 police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice.
The Thoubal SP also handed over simple gifts to the families of the martyred police personnel.
As a part of the ceremony, a blood donation camp was also held organised by the Blood Transfusion Unit, RIMS in collaboration with Association of Voluntary Blood Donor Manipur Thoubal District Branch.
Altogether 50 BSF and police personnel donated their valuable blood.
Meanwhile, Kakching District Police also held the observance ceremony which is held in memory of the 10 brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives on October 21, 1959 when Chinese troops attacked Indian police at Ladakh.
Today's ceremony honoured seven police personnel from the district who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Kakching SP Th Vikramjit, MPS, led the gathering in offering floral tributes on the portraits of Mayanglambam Chaoba, Deputy SP, Kakching Moirangthem Leikai; Hueiningshumbam Lukhoi, Rifleman, Keirak Mamang Leikai; Naorem Kesho, Constable, Kakching Mayai Leikai, Yaikhom Pareng; Sapam Rajkumar, Constable, Sugnu Mayai Leikai; Chongtham Rishikanta, Thounaojam Mamang Leikai; Maibam Kantakumar, Tejpur Makha Leikai and Mayanglambam Shyamkumar, Kakching Khongnang Mari Phangba.
Additional SP (Operation) Binoy Chingtham, Additional SP (LO) A Romendro, SDPO Kakching, Premjit, SDPO Sugnu, Suresh Anthony, OCs of CDO Kakching Unit and Kakching district PS OCs joined in paying homage to the martyrs.
On the occasion, District Police Kakching also presented gifts to the families of the seven deceased police personnel.
