Rs 1.1 Cr aid to martyred BSF man's family

The State Bank of India (SBI) has extended a cash assistance of Rs 1.1 crore to the family of BSF Constable Chingakham Deepak Singh under Central Armed PoliceSalary Package (CAPSP) .
A resident of Yairipok Yambem, Deepak lost his life in the line of duty due to cross-border firing from Pakistan in Jammu on May 11 .
A press release issued by Regional Manager of the SBI Regional Business Office Imphal Khumukcham Okendra Singh, said that the remarkable support was the result of coordinated effort by SBI Regional Office-Imphal, SBI Imphal Branch and SBI ACB Paloura Branch.
He said that they are honoured to stand by the family of Constable Deepak Singh and extend the Nation's gratitude.
"This is more than just banking - it is a tribute to a life of valour and sacrifice." he said.
Saying that similar packages like the State Government Salary Package and Police Salary Package provide similar benefits, he urged the employees of the Manipur Government to take benefit of such salary packages provided by SBI .
