UDYAM registration drive held across Ukhrul villages

Ukhrul, March 20 2026: A one-day UDYAM registration drive-cum-awareness programme was successfully conducted in Talui and Jessami villages of Ukhrul district, aiming to promote entrepreneurship and inform local residents about the benefits of UDYAM registration.

The programme at Talui village was held at the Community Hall under LM block, drawing participation from individuals interested in starting or expanding business ventures.

Acting headman Chipemshang Zimik graced the occasion as the chief guest at Talui village, while Eyekhwete Wezah attended as the chief guest at the Jessami programme.

General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC), Ukhrul & Kamjong, Themreiyo T Awungshi, who attended as the functional president, highlighted various government support schemes and financial assistance available to entrepreneurs.

He emphasized that individuals registered under UDYAM would gain better access to loan facilities, subsidized interest rates, priority sector lending, and credit guarantee provisions aimed at supporting startups and small businesses.

Resource person Chandevi Tarao, District Agriculture Officer, Ukhrul, delivered a session on "MSMEs and Agriculture," stressing the importance of promoting local enterprises for sustainable livelihoods.

During the technical session, more than 100 individuals were registered under UDYAM, while 125 application forms were distributed to interested participants.

In Jessam village, 70 individuals completed their registration through the UDYAM portal.

The programme was organised under the Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, with the objective of encouraging sustainable business development and empowering local entrepreneurs in the district.
