Imphal, December 19 2008: Imphal West District Police Commandos have reportedly arrested four activists of the proscribed KCP including that of the KCP (MC) from different parts of the district today.

According to a statement issued by Senior SP of Imphal West District L Kailun, the KCP (MC) activist identified as Lourembam Kulla alias Kulladhaja (37) s/o late Louembam Homendra Singh of Uripok Bachaspati Leikai was arrested from near RIMS Gate, Lamphel at around 4.20 pm today.

On spot verification, Kulla disclosed that he was working in finance group under the command of one S/S Captain Pamei of KCP (MC) and he was assigned to serve demand letters and extort money from Government Departments and general public for party fund, the SSP informed.

The police officer further informed that three KCP activists were also arrested by the Imphal West District Police Commandos from Khurai Ahongei Leikai at around 4.35 pm today.

Identifying the arrested KCP activists as Ngangom Rajkiran alias Ingo (21) s/o Ng Irabanta Singh of Khurai Ahongei, Keithelakpam Abung alias Nganoi (22) s/o K Yaima of Khurai Soibam Leikai and Kshetrimayum Tolen (26) s/o Kh Megho of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai, the SSP informed that on spot verification, they disclosed that they were assigned to serve demand letters and extort money for party fund of KCP.

Two SLR ammunition and two 9 mm ammunition have also been seized respectively from the possession of K Abung and Tolen, the police officer added.
