Imphal, August 19 2025: Session Judge Bishnupur has granted absolute bail to singers, Loukrakpam Jayenta, popularly known as Tapta and Maibam Priyo alias Tapta Macha in connection with a Zero FIR registered against them in Churachandpur police station.

The Zero FIR at the Churachandpur police station was registered after a complaint was lodged by one Kaikhomang Haokip accusing the singers of promoting enmity between different communities through their songs.

The Session Judge granted bail to the singers yesterday after hearing two separate applications asking for anticipatory bail.

Loukrakpam Jayenta alias Tapta is now 65 and hails from Naranseina Mamang Leikai.

Maibam Priyo alias Tapta Macha is 31 and he hails from Heirok Part-III Kabo Leikai.

He is currently staying at Haobam Marak Lourembam Leikai.

Notably, on June 17 last, the same Court had passed an interim order that no coercive action shall be taken up against Tapta pending a report from the police station concerned.
