Sensitization programme on eDAR, PM-Rahat scheme held at Thoubal

Thoubal, May 19 2026:
A one-day sensitization-cum-training programme on the electronic De-tailedAccidentReport(eDAR) and PM-RAHAT scheme, a cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims, was held on Tuesday at the Counting Hall of the DC Complex, Thoubal.
The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal Yumnam Robita, DIGP Armed-Police-I Jogeshchandra Haobijam, Superintendent of Police Thoubal Manoj Prabhakar M, along with officials from stakeholder departments including Police, Transport, PWD, NHIDCL, RED, HEALTH and empanelled private hospitals of Thoubal district.
Resource persons from NIC Manipur and the State Health Agency delivered presentations on the procedures and real-time response mechanisms under the PM RAHAT scheme.
The scheme provides assured hospitalization and cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh per person for road accident victims.
The programme aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen coordination among the concerned departments and hospitals for effective implementation of the scheme.
Participants were sensitized on the importance of providing immediate and hassle-free medical assistance to road accident victims during the crucial golden hour period.
Speaking on the occasion, Jogeschandra Haobijam, who is also the State Nodal Officer for eDAR of Manipur, stressed the need for timely action by all stakeholder departments to ensure that the public receives the benefits of the PM RAHAT scheme.
He further emphasized that no road accident victim should be denied life-saving treatment due to financial constraints.
DC Yumnam Robita and SP Manoj Prabhakar M also urged officials and stakeholders to remain diligent and committed in delivering efficient service to the public.
