Thoubal, January 19 2025: The 36th death anniversary celebration of Laishram Mani (founder of Laishram Mani Goura Sangeet Academy) was held today at Thoubal Wangkhem Mayai Leikai, Thoubal.

The event held at the residence of Laishram Bijoykumar also featured Guru Kirtan (dedicated to the late Gurus of the Academy) and a symposium.

The event jointly organised by Laishram Mani Goura Sangeet Academy along with family members and relatives of Laishram Mani was attended by Akoijam Kesho, former director of Education Department, Govt of Manipur as chief guest, Huyen Lalong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, director, Padma Shri Awardee, Kakchingtabam Sanathoiba Sharma as president and Kamrup District Committee Guwahati and United Manipur Association, Assam, general secretary, Laishram Budhachandra as guest of honour.

Cultural songs, dance and various cultural activities were the main highlights of the event.

As part of the event, a guru kirtan and floral tributes were also paid to the late gurus.

Later a symposium on the topic "Dharmada Marai Chaitharakpa" was also held in which National Awardee, Laishram Bijoy was the moderator.

At the symposium, Shumang Lila artist and LifeTime Achievement Award recipient, Yumlembam Gouradash also spoke as a resource person.
