Seva Sankalp Abhiyan kicks off

Bpr/Chd/CCpur/Jbm/Kak/Kjm/Kpi/Phz/Spi/Tpl/Tbl, September 18 2026: Manipur joined the nation in launching the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long nationwide public outreach campaign to commemorate 25 years of public service and governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was launched across various districts in the State on September 17 on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.

The observance of "Aashirwad Ka Diya" marked by lighting of lamps at various Government offices and public places across the districts was the main highlight of the launch programme.

Bishnupur

Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam along with MLAs of Bishnupur District and Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam inaugurated the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan for the district at the Panchayat Resource Centre, PRC Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Thursday.

As a part of the programme, the dignitaries distributed cheques worth more than Rs 2 crore under the Community Investment Fund and Bank Credit Linkages from MSRLM, Bishnupur, along with looms from the District Administration, CMHT cards, aids and appliances provided by the Social Welfare Department in coordination with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), and blankets and other essential items from the New Life Foundation.

The function was also attended by MLA Nambol AC Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, MLA Oinam AC Irengbam Nalini Devi, MLA Moirang AC Thongam Shanti Singh, MLA Thanga AC Tongbram Robindro Singh, MLA Kumbi AC Sanasam Premchandra Singh, ADM Bishnupur Toijam Opendro, SDO Bishnupur Naorem Pritam, among others.

As a part of the abhiyan, the "Seva Setu Abhiyan" was also conducted today at the PRC Hall for Bishnupur AC, with various departments setting up stalls to facilitate beneficiary enrolment, verification, documentation and applications for different government schemes.

A blood donation camp was also organised at the District Hospital Bishnupur in the morning, where around 40 people donated blood.

Chandel

For Chandel, the candlelighting ceremony at the Mini Secretariat, DC Complex, Chandel marked the district's participation in the nationwide observance and reaffirmed the collective resolve to uphold the principles of service, good governance and inclusive welfare.

The ceremony was attended by DC Chandel, Mamoni Doley, along with members of the District-Level Organising Committee.

Churachandpur

DC Krishna Kumar launched the campaign at the Conference Hall of the DC's Office.

During the inaugural programme, Lalrobul Fimate, Additional District Magistrate, Churachandpur, administered the Swachhata Pledge and presented the detailed action plan to the line departments for implementation during the campaign.

As a part of the inaugural activities, a Seva Jyoti Yatra foot march was organised from the DC Office campus, with the participation of District Level Officers (DLOs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs).

A tree plantation programme, "Seva Mera Yogdan", was also conducted within the DC Office campus.

The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, SDOs and DLOs of various departments, besides other officials associated with the implementation of the campaign.

Jiribam

In Jiribam district, citizens and leaders participated in the 'Ashirwad ka Diya' initiative by lighting diyas in homes, institutions, and places of worship.

Kakching

Kakching district joined the nationwide launch of the campaign by observing the lighting of diyas under the 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' initiative, organised under the supervision of the District Administration, Kakching.

Kamjong

DC Kamjong LN Kashung launched the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan for the district at the conference hall of the Mini-Secretariat, Kamjong District.

The monthlong campaign began with a tree plantation drive organised by the Kamjong Forest Division, at the approach road of the Mini Secretariat complex.

The DC led the other officials including Superintendent of Police, Kamjong Tholu Rocky and Additional Deputy Commissioner HL Jain in planting tree saplings.

DLOs, senior officials of the District Administration, civil society organisations, NGOs and residents of Kamjong District Headquarters attended the programme among others.

Kangpokpi

The District Administration Kangpokpi, under the supervision of DC Hemant Kumar launched the campaign at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) Conference Hall in Kangpokpi.

Following the launch, the DC conducted an on-spot distribution of scheme benefits.

Key handovers included cherry saplings by the Forest Department, fanner cards and sprayer pumps by the Agriculture Department, PM Surya Ghar assistance via MSPDCL, and keys to completed houses under Special PMAY-G .

Pherzawl

The district-level launch was led by Pherzawl DC Anunay Anand in the presence of ADC Pherzawl & District Nodal Officer Lalthazam; ADC & in-charge SDO/BDO Parbung Zousanglur Joute; S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, in-charge SDO/BDO Vangai; Addl SP Piangkhanmuan; DLOs and officials from various district-level and line departments.

An Ashirvad ka diya-lighting programme was also held at the DC Conference Hall and at Parbung by the One Stop Centre and BDO Tipaimukh.

A health camp was also organised at Parbung CHC and PHCs .

Senapati

The launch programme began with the lighting of candles and cake-cutting led by DC Senapati, Dharun Kumar S along with the DLOs and leaders of CSOs.

Later, the Additional DC Senapati, Adahrii Maheo led the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan pledge for the gathering.

As a part of the campaign, the ZEO, Senapati led the painting, essay and elocution competitions on the theme "My Vision of Viksit Manipur in Viksit Bharat 2047" organised across the district.

Meanwhile, a special blood donation camp was organised by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Senapati, in collaboration with the CSOs at the Blood Bank Centre, District Hospital, Senapati.

The launch programme was attended by Shanngam S, IFS, Divisional Officer; SDOs; DLOs; officials from various departments; representatives of CSOs and other stakeholders.

Tengnoupal

The District Administration, Tengnoupal organised the launching the programme for the district at the conference hall of the DC Office.

DC Tengnoupal Saurabh Yadav launched the campaign in the presence of SDOs, DLOs, NGOs and many others.

Thoubal

A blood donation camp was held at Thoubal District Hospital Blood Centre to mark the launching of the campaign.

Heirok AC MLA Dr Thokchom Radheshyam lauded the blood donors of the camp.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Thoubal in collaboration with the District Health Society Thoubal organised a launching programme at the District Hospital Thoubal conference hall.
